Jill Finn owns a property in Lime Park, Herstmonceux, in East Sussex called The Old Rectory. Sadly, her sisters Jane and Susan, were victims of cancer, prompting Ms Finn to run to raise money for the UK charity. According to her declarations at companies house, she is a professional property manager. Well done to Jill and her friends for raising £382 pounds, to help support much needed research into ways of preventing and (if possible) curing over 100 forms of the disease. Although cancer can be genetically inherited via DNA, there are many ways you can prevent it taking hold, such as eating the right foods (vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian) and taking regular exercise. It also helps to live in the country where petrol and diesel particulates are a major cause of lung cancer in cities. As many as one in every two people can be affected by cancer. So stay alert for the signs, if you want to catch it at an early stage, for effective treatment.

JILL'S COUNTRY RETREAT - Jill Finn bought this property in Lime Park for around £700,000 pounds. She is converting the old stable block with her partner Nigel Flood, with whom she has two children, Matthew and Harriet. The property was purchased from Alison Deshayes after her father, Peter Townley passed in 2019. The Old Rectory was once owned by the Church, hence the name. Since purchasing, Jill and Nigel have spent significant sums on converting the property, fitting new kitchen bedrooms and bathrooms. During the process of converting the buildings in the foreground, excavations took place, without their builders, architect or the owner/occupiers giving any notice, as is a statutory requirement under Ancient Monument and Party Wall enactments, giving rise to a potential dispute situation, and liability issues.
