ALICIA VIKANDER - The super stoic actress storms the silver screen

Alicia Amanda Vikander is a Swedish actress and dancer. Born on the 3rd of October 1988 and raised in Gothenburg, she began acting as a child in minor stage productions at The Göteborg Opera and trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm and the School of American Ballet in New York. She began her professional acting career by appearing in Swedish short films and television series and first gained recognition in Northern Europe for her role as Josefin Björn-Tegebrandt in the TV drama Andra Avenyn (2008–10).

Vikander made her feature film debut in Pure (2010), for which she won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She attracted widespread recognition in 2012 for portraying Princess Ekaterina "Kitty" Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya in Joe Wright's film adaptation of Anna Karenina and Queen Caroline Mathilde in the Academy Award-nominated Danish film A Royal Affair, receiving a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination for her breakthrough. She subsequently reunited with Pure film director Lisa Langseth for the 2013 drama film Hotell and appeared in the Julian Assange biopic The Fifth Estate (2013).

In 2014 and 2015, Vikander attracted global recognition her starring roles films such as Seventh Son (2014), Son of a Gun (2014), and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015). She garnered universal acclaim for her roles as activist Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth, for which she was nominated for the BIFA Award for Best Actress, an AI in Ex Machina, for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress, and painter Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl, for which she won the Academy Award, the SAG Award, and the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress, and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress.

JULY 2015 - The Ex Machina star is at the Ischia festival to accept the Breakout Actress Of The Year. The Global Film & Music Festival, which started last Saturday, is due to conclude on Sunday. The 26-year-old girlfriend of Michael Fassbender stepped out wearing a sexy black bandeau bikini which had a knot design at the cleavage and tie-sides on the briefs. Alicia ooked incredible when she topped up the tan on the beach in Ischia on Sunday the 19th.

Ex Machina (stylized as ex_machina) is a 2015 British science fiction psychological thriller film written and directed by Alex Garland in his directing debut. It stars Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac. Ex Machina tells the story of programmer Caleb Smith (Gleeson) who is invited by his employer, the eccentric billionaire Nathan Bateman (Isaac), to administer the Turing test to an android with artificial intelligence (Vikander).

Made on a budget of $15 million, the film grossed $38.3 million worldwide and received critical acclaim. The National Board of Review recognized it as one of the ten best independent films of the year, and it won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects over big-budget movies such as The Martian, Mad Max: Fury Road and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay, while Vikander's acclaimed performance earned her BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Empire Awards, and Saturn Awards nominations.
