ETC, INC - Kay Nelson is also the name of a well known events
organiser in Ohio, USA. Kay graduated from St. Olaf College located in Northfield, Minnesota, with a BA degree in Consumer Foods and Home Economics. Her background is in Restaurant Management, along with teaching food preparation and presentation.
Since 1986 Kay has been promoting and selling special events in the Greater Cincinnati area, having worked for two other companies prior to founding eventsetc with a business partner in 1991. As of April 1, 2006, Kay is the sole owner of eventsetc, Inc. which celebrated its 20th year in January of 2011!
In the May 2007 issue of Women's Business, Kay was recognized as one of the top 10 event planners in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Thanks to years of creating and producing special events and themed meetings, Kay offers her clients' customized events specific to their needs and goals.
One focus over the years has been corporate ground breaking- and grand opening-related events, along with milestone celebrations, such as corporate anniversaries, recognition ceremonies, and client events.
Along with sales development and networking, an area of expertise Kay brings to eventsetc's clients is selection of venues and caterers, menu design, and development of the overall presentation of food displays.
With almost 25 years in the event planning field, Kay has an extensive portfolio of both talented and unique entertainers, including speakers, to book for client's events. Kay's years of participation in the event world have resulted in establishment of a network of exceptional vendors, thus ensuring the production of both quality and memorable events.
Kay served for 8 years on both the Japan America Society Board and on the United Coalition for Animals (UCAN) board. She volunteers at UCAN's non-profit consignment shop -- Pedigree Interiors -- which, along with grants and donations, enabled the opening of the UCAN Spay Neuter clinic on West Eighth Street in April 2007.
Kay serves on the committee for planning Sunday Salons, the annual fundraising series for the non-profit, Women Helping Women.
Kay's on-going goal of building long-term relationships with her clients, developing a deep understanding of their vision and needs, enhances her love of the profession, ensures successful events and meetings, and allows Kay to truly "put the special in your special event!
